The Oath

She said that she forgave me,
a lie between her teeth,
Her love I thought would save me,
and crush the pain beneath,
Yet forgiven is not forgotten,
as I thought it should be,
Once sweet, all is rotten,
now I am left in grief,
The more I loved her further,
her love I could not reep,
I had said I'd never hurt her,
an oath I couldn't keep.
